Monday 1st June
Today May rolled into June and the COVID-19 crisis continued.
Inverness is currently experiencing to beautiful and hot weather (which is set to break tomorrow) but unfortunately the dental profession is still complicated, as we have not yet had clear guidance about the possibilities of opening. At the moment there seems to be a new large document to read everyday which is full of acronyms and instructions, however we are doing are best to wade through the information so we can be up and running ASAP.
However, we are continually thankful that we live in such a beautiful part of the world….. which is demonstrated by the picture Ken took on a light night dog walk.
Tuesday 2nd June
Although we are still unsure when we will be allowed to open our doors again, we are desperately trying to source recommended PPE, this is proving to be a difficult task (as expected). To add to this difficulty there is now a supply of fake masks flooding the market, so we are desperate to ensure that our stocks come from reliable and registered sources. Thankfully the dental community appear to be helping each other with information about these type of problems at the moment, so we are very grateful.
Wednesday 3rd June
Whilst walking on Nairn beach today Chelsea found a weird Starfish….. it was generally agreed that it looked like a “minging” alien….. but it is nice that even in Lockdown she continues to make new friends, please click below to see a wee video of this.
Thursday 4th June
As guidance has been rapidly changing over the past week we all felt the need for a zoom meeting to ensure that things were progressing and all members of the team were feeling OK about going back and what will be expected of everyone. This includes new and complicated paperwork which will need to be signed by patients before any work of any type can be done. It is still a disappointment to us that we will not be all allowed in the practice at one time for what may be many months, but it was nice to see everyone’s face again.
We also discussed new staff rotas to allow the minimal amount of people to be in the practice at one time….. it is all extremely complicated, but we are sure WE CAN DO IT #Ateam
Friday 5th June
Today we received a small supply of PPE and hand sanitiser from the healthboard, We are grateful for this as it is indeed in demand throughout the UK. However as it is just a small proportion of what we will need, and not suitable for all procedures, …… the fight for PPE continues. Here it is beautifully modelled by Ionagh.
