Cosmetic Dentistry
There are many misconceptions about cosmetic dentistry but simply put, cosmetic dentistry is the term used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of the teeth, gums and/or bite. It focuses on the improvement in dental aesthetics, that is the colour, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance, this does not always improve the functionality or health of the teeth.
For many patients cosmetic dentistry can cover all aspects of dentistry and must be highly personalised for each patient. Treatment options will vary significantly for each individual and may be dependent on many factors. It can range from the simplest form of dentistry to more time consuming and technical processes.
Cosmetic dentistry can include:-
- replacing stained or chipped fillings
- replacing metal fillings for tooth coloured restorations
- tooth whitening
- hygiene therapy
- crown or veneer work
- implant work
- denture work
- orthodontics
simply put cosmetic dentistry is just “normal” dentistry!!
Here at Eden Dental Clinic we see a huge array of people with a vast array of needs and desires, and therefore we feel it important to listen to what people want and give them a range of available options. Our priority as dentists is both oral health and happy patients and we feel the best way to provide this is through explaining all available treatment options (with their pros and cons) and letting the patient decide. As we are a long established practice who have treated many of our patients for over 20years we aim to give a high and long lasting result.
Treatment will proceed when a patient is happy with the proposals and together we aim to provide a great cosmetic result.
