Eden Dental Clinic Fundraising Events 2020 For Maggie’s and MacMillan’s.
Throughout 2020, we started to run a series of events in aid of the Maggie’s charity. We felt that this was a deserving cause as both ourselves and many of our patients have unfortunately had to deal with a family member suffering Cancer and the Maggie’s charity provides both emotional and practical support to both families and patients. As the COVID-19 crisis hit, and the clinic was forced to close we took all our remaining PPE to the Maggies centre as at this time we felt this was the best way to help them.
Maggie’s Cryptic Quiz
In early March, we distributed a cryptic quiz from the practice. Entries cost £1 per go and the winner was to be drawn from the correct entries. The first correct entry drawn will win a £10 voucher. To see how we got on with our entries click HERE
Ken’s 500 Mile Bike Ride
This was the epi-centre of our fundraising as in September Ken Was supposed to be riding 500 miles around Scotland in aid of Maggie’s. Click HERE for further details. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 crisis this ride will be postponed until 2021….. he has therefore reduced his training, however continues to carb load….
Charity Auction
On September 25th Maggie’s had organised a charity auction at The Kingsmills Hotel Inverness. We had collected a range of items to auction at this event. We were delighted that Scotland’s highest ever placed road racing cyclist Phillipa York has agreed to help in our endeavours! All collected items will be stored until the auction can be rescheduled.
We have also contacted various distillery’s that Ken will be cycling past on his epic bike ride and a few of them have very kindly agreed to donate a bottle of whiskey to our cause. We are extremely grateful to Grants and Aberlour for their generous donations.
Keely’s Recipe Book
During Lockdown Keely has taken the time to put together a recipe book in aid of the Macmillan’s charity. Her book has many family recipes in it….. including Ionagh’s monster Yorkshire puddings, so we know she’s on to a winner!
Unfortunately Keely’s family have suffered many cases of cancer over the past few years so the Macmillan’s charity is close to her heart. Please find out more about her story by visiting her Just Giving Page.
